Interoperability between the Upland Metaverse and other metaverses is an important facet to Upland. As part of the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web 3 (OMA3), having the ability to move your assets freely between Upland and other spaces is important. After all, if you spent money on something like a car in Upland, it would only make sense that you would want to use that same car in other metaverses. The same would be true if you wanted to bring a car not-native to Upland to this metaverse. This is why interoperability is so important. Crypto wallets such as MetaMask are important vehicles to enable this interoperability. In 2024 Upland announced an integration with MetaMask where you are able to connect your wallet to Upland, and purchase UPX directly for Ethereum. Learn more here.
There are many different types of native assets to the Upland Metaverse. At the moment, only block explorers can be downloaded to Ethereum, but there are plans to have all types of assets transferrable. See below the procedures on how to download an asset to your Metamask wallet, and how to purchase an Upland native asset from OpenSea.
