All the Upland neighborhoods who have earned collection status through winning the Neighborhood Collection Spawn Competition are eligible to participate in this upgrade challenge where the neighborhood can increase the collection boosted earnings. This seasonal competition will show which are the strongest communities within the Metaverse. Organized communities, or nodes, will not only have bragging rights, but also increase their percentage boost of that neighborhood collection. If a neighborhood excels and continues to top the charts, its even possible to reach Ultra Rare collection status! Learn more about other activities that happen during each season.

Each season, 3 neighborhoods will have their collection boost increased, and the last placed neighborhood will see a decrease in their boosted earnings. In contrast to the way in which neighborhoods earn points to win the collection spawn competition, this upgrade challenge is based on season-over-season percentage growth in the neighborhood’s rating scores. Each season is 6 weeks long, and you can learn more about them here.

Below are the different collection rarity levels that can be achieved by a neighborhood. Neighborhoods that upgrade their Collection rarity will enter a one-season cooldown period, during which they won’t be eligible for earnings boosts. When reaching a new rarity level, collection holders will also receive an additional one time bonus. (Each newly spawned neighborhood collection begins at a 1.3x multiplier, and gets a 450 UPX one time bonus.)

Additionally, if a neighborhood finishes last at their base level earnings for two consecutive seasons, it will be removed from the Upgrade Leaderboard. While the Collection remains intact, the neighborhood must secure first place on the Neighborhood Challenge Leaderboard to regain entry to the Upgrade Leaderboard.

The table below details the earning boost changes based on the end of season standings of the neighborhoods in this competition.
