The first car brand to enter the Metaverse is Upland’s MV-Motors. These cars are produced at 4220 Network Circle in Santa Clara, California. Cars will be required not only for racing, but also for travelling within a city.
Upland has also announced that there will be cities that will only be accessible by car. This mode of transportation will be important as both people and goods will need to be transported. If you want to travel to a store to buy a piece of outdoor decor you would need to take a car there. Once you buy it, you may need the showroom that you purchased it from to deliver it and install it on your property. This is only one example of countless ways that vehicles will provide utility in Upland.
The utility described below is purely speculation at this point. As more information from Upland becomes available this information will be updated.
Race car
Racing will be the first fully immersive Unity-based experience in the Upland metaverse,allowing players to compete with each other in both Upland-Sponsored and Player-Generated races. You will be able to race with any type of car, but race cars will most likely be the most expensive type of car, and have driving abilities that fit racetracks that have long straight away thus optimizing for speed and acceleration.
SUV
SUVs might be the perfect hybrid between a sedan and a race car. It may be able to transport smaller cargo, or it may even have some favourable abilities within racing. It might be the best car option if you are looking for versatility in the Metaverse.
Sedan
Cars will be used as a means of transportation both between cities and within cities in Upland. Much like the real world, some cities in Upland will only be accessible via cars.
Semi-trailer
Semi-trailers will primarily be used to transport lorge manufactured goods from the manufacturing plant to the showrooms. Its possible that in addition to using vans and pick up trucks, these semi trailers will also be used to transport goods that Uplanders purchase from a showrooms to their homes.
Minivan
If you don't own a car in Upland, you will be able to use a ride share service where other Uplanders will take you to your destination for a fee. This type of vehicle may also be used to transport goods. If you are in a different city and don't want to travel to pick up something that you purchased from a store, you might be able to enlist another player to purchase it and deliver it to you or your house.
Pickup truck
This type of vehicle will likely be used to transport goods or cargo. If you are in a different city and don't want to travel to pick up something that you purchased from a store, you might be able to enlist another player to purchase it and deliver it to you or your house. If you purchased something large like a piece of outdoor decor, you may need a large vehicle like a pickup truck to deliver it to your property.
