Each Legit is an NFT, which stands for Non-Fungible Token, which means that each item is unique and cannot be replicated. These wearables are created using 3D modeling software and can include things like clothing, and accessories for your avatar. Any wearable Legit you have purchased can be found in the “Legits” tab within your assets.
There are several reasons why you might want a 3D NFT wearable for your avatar. Firstly, they can enhance your avatar’s appearance and help you stand out in virtual environments. Just like in real life, fashion and style are important in virtual worlds and having unique and stylish wearables can help you express your individuality.
Secondly, these wearable Legits can be a valuable investment. As the demand for virtual items grows, the value of rare and unique wearables can increase over time. Some 3D NFT wearables have even sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars in other metaverses and marketplaces.
Finally, 3D NFT wearables can also be a way to support the creators who make them. When you purchase a wearable Legit, you are directly supporting the artist or designer who created it, which can help them continue to produce more high-quality items for the community to enjoy. In the future, players will be able to manufacture manufacturing process their own wearable Legits within Upland.
Wearables were released in April, 2023, but the actual ability to dress your avatar up in the item has yet to be released. The very first wearables were Mangueira carnival costumes, and we can expect many other brands and partners upland partnerships to bring wearables into Upland.
