Each season Upland hosts a racing competition, which culminates with the Championship Circuit during Genesis Week (appx 2nd week of June). By participating in multiplayer races with MV Motors cars or karts, racers can earn points that will help them climb the leaderboards and win prizes like UPX, and more.

Win Points

There are two ways to win points during the racing season, but points can only be won when:

  • there are a minimum of 3 real racers (non-AI racers) participating in the race
  • players race for stakes (wagering UPX on the race).
  • the race must include a qualifying lap

1 – Multiplayer Races

Participating in a public multiplayer race for stakes will earn you the following points, regardless of what position you finish.

  • Race against 2 other real players +1 point
  • Race against 3 other real players + 3 points
  • Race  against 4 other real players: +5 points
  • Race  against 5 other real players: +10 points

2 – Reach the podium

In addition to the points awarded just for participating, if you rank in the top 3 finishers of the race, you can be eligible for additional points as per the table below. Note that the stake per player the race entry fee and excludes the 5% fee paid to the community UPX pool). See the Upland Guide Race for Stakes Calculator to learn more. Racers may only appear in the top 10 on one leaderboard. Players who place in the top 10 on multiple leaderboards will only receive prizes from their highest-ranking leaderboard and will be removed from all others.

Rules for Finals

The top 12 racers will be split into 2 heats of 6 and will try to qualify for the finals.

  • Top 3 finishers from each heat will move on to the final with the fastest time being in the pole position and the starter for the race (same applies to qualifying heats, top 2 times from the leader board will be used as the heat starters in pole position).
  • In the event someone errors out of the race in the heat races, players can try to rejoin, if unable to control their car on a rejoin, then players are given the place that they finish with the driverless car ( likely last in the heat).
  • If a player errors out on the final race, then they are given the 6th place spot in the final, if more than one person errors out, then it will be based on the driverless car finishing time to determine who will get the higher place in the standings.
