Trove Recipes

Recipes are what give troves in Upland a purpose. Whether it is to mint an Uppie, or to progress to create a different type of trove, players are required to collect specific combinations of troves, or recipes. Different Uppies and items will require different recipes. For example, wheat troves and milk troves could be brought to a bakery, and combined to receive bread troves. Bakeries are a form of service structure that will play a large part in the trove economy. Learn more about service structures here. This bread trove isn’t a collectible but something that is required elsewhere. In order to befriend or mint an Uppie, it may require a certain number of bread troves.

There are a variety of troves to be collected in the following categories. As more information about these are released, this page will be updated accordingly.

  • Care
  • Resource – these types of troves are harvested from STEM-bearing plants. These troves can then be exchanged for STEM.
  • Social
  • Utility

Some troves convert directly into STEM, while others are used to create new items, fulfill requests, or unlock progression. Over time, nearly everything in Upland can become part of a recipe, either as an input or an output.

Recipes are fixed. Utilizing the example previously of wheat and milk troves could be brought to a bakery, and combined to receive bread troves, means that this will always be true. Its possible to receive bread troves through other recipes or even discovering it at a structure, but a wheat and milk trove can always be exchanges for that bread trove. There are also dynamic recipes, which come in the form of Uppie quests.

While fulfilling recipes, you have a limit to the number of troves you can collect based on your block explorer’s stamina. Ensure you have several (and rarer) block explorer to enable yourself to keep fulfilling recipes and collecting troves before having to cool down. Learn more about the stamina feature. When placing an Uppie on your property, certain level Uppies are able to collect troves automatically – this feature is independent from the block explorer stamina which only takes into account manually collected troves.
