Service Structures are an integral part of the Upland metaverse and attracting Uppies, or virtual residents to your neighborhood. Uppies are looking for more than a just a place to live, they are looking for a place to thrive. These service structures are a large part of what will attract these Uppies to a specific neighborhood.
These structure designs are sold in the Upland Store. Purchasing the design provides you with the ability to construct this structure on any of your properties where it fits. The sales are limited in time, but unlimited in quantity. If you miss the sale, there will be no way for you to build that specific model in the future. There may be other models of the same type of structure in the future that go on sale. You could purchase a property that has that specific structure built on it, or connect with a player that has the specific design and have him start a build for you. In addition to structures that represent a single category, there are also multi-purpose service structures. These structures are designed to serve more than one role in attracting Uppies to your neighborhoods. For example, the high school below which serves 2 functions:
Primary Function: Public Service — A cornerstone of any community, the high school serves as an educational hub for Uppies preparing for the future.
Bonus Function: Entertainment — The on-site football field brings a lively Friday night game atmosphere, adding a touch of fun and community spirit.
There are 2 additional types of service structures that have special mechanics – boost structures, and network effect structures. Boost structures provide you with boost to a specific score when certain criteria are met, and network effect structures increase your score when a neighborhood has a strategically placed network of these specific structures.
