Everything you need to know about your identity in the Upland Metaverse

is important and your identity in the
metaverse should be equally as important
I’m going to explain everything you need
to know about creating your identity in
the Upland metaverse in this video some
of the important parts of your identity
include your username your home address
your custom block Explorer and your 3D
avatar but that’s not it before I
explain more about each of those there’s
something even more important that you
need to understand about Upland and the
blockchain here you can see upland’s
slogan play earn connect in this video
when I’m talking about creating your own
identity this absolutely falls under the
connect section of this metaverse before
you can connect with other people you
have to connect with yourself and you
have to know who you are that holds true
in the real world and also in the
metaverse we know that Upland is trying
to recreate the real world in the
metaverse and this gives you an
opportunity to create your own identity
and Persona within the metaverse the
Upland metaverse is built upon the
blockchain and this enables us to
fulfill the second part of the slogan
which is earn players are able to have
ownership over the assets that they own
and from there they are able to do what
they want with them they are able to
sell them to other players within the
game even in the future there is going
to be a bridge to other blockchains
where you are able to download your
assets to something like the ethereum
blockchain where you would be able to
sell that on one of the open markets
over there this is not something that
was able to be done in games that did
not use the blockchain very simply the
blockchain is a public Ledger where
everything is written and documented on
it to illustrate this you can see this
property that I own in the property card
I can click under the title and I can
actually go and view this on the
blockchain here it’s not necessarily
something that is easily readable by a
lot of players but what we can actually
see here is all of the transactions that
occurred with this as
so it says here that the transaction
notarizes that YK 2012 which is me
corresponding to EOS account number
whatever this long string of numbers is
owns this property in Upland and here
below we can see that the transfer was
from my account to the Upland account
and I transferred the price of 5880
Optics so in Upland every single
transaction whether it be a send to a
property minting a property selling a
block Explorer trading a property with
someone staking spark on your own
property or somebody else’s everything
you do in Upland is documented on the
blockchain and is public information so
the first and maybe the most important
thing that I can say about creating your
identity on the blockchain is that
everything you do is completely
transparent to everyone when we start
talking about identity even in the real
world things that you own say something
about you maybe own a Ferrari maybe you

that you can buy I chose to buy this
specific property it might be because
I’m from Chicago it might be that’s my
real world home it might be because I
like the Chicago Cubs or I like baseball
or many different reasons but it
absolutely says something about me if
you’re curious take a look at the link

behavior on Upland and what I mean by
that are your interactions and your
transactions is something that is public
and can be looked at someone who wants
to take the time to learn about
someone’s history in the game can do the
research and see what you have been up
to and this could have both positive and
negative effects for you I could see
that if there’s a player that owns a lot
of Tampa Bay legits then they might be
interested in making a trade for a Tampa
Bay Memento that I own on the other hand
it’s very trackable to find players that
are involved in multi-accounting and
asset funneling and someone might be
able to look up your profile and say
since I don’t think this person in my
opinion might be a model citizen I might
not want to go into business with him or
transact with him or whatever that might
be so there are absolutely pros and cons
to having this transparency with the
blockchain and you have to be aware of
that in the metaverse
now after that brief introduction of the
blockchain and how owning assets not
only real world things but virtual
assets as well help to Define you we get
here to the profile card in Upland where
the very first thing that you notice is
my username YK 2012 and that’s something
that defines me that is the first thing
that you meet when you interact with me
or any other player for that matter is
you see their username now it’s not
possible to change your username after
you’ve created one but if I could go
back in time I would have chosen
something different especially knowing
that I am now a influencer in this space
and I’m creating videos I probably would
have chosen a username that would have
fit a little better with the personal
brand that I’m trying to create around
the upwind guide the second thing that
you can take note of is the status that
I have within the game I am an executive
player which means that I have a net
worth of over 10 million Optics now I
wouldn’t look too deep into this because
net worth only looks set the property
value that you have if you bought a
property for 10 million Optics but you
might only be able to sell it for 5 000
Optics then your net worth would still
be 10 million it does not give a real
good estimation about the value of the
properties that you actually own in
addition to that other things that you
own like block explorers legits and
vehicles do not factor into your net
worth calculation the second thing that
helps to Define you is your Upland home
address just like in the real world the
fact that you might live in San
Francisco or London or Sydney Australia
all of that says something about you the
same thing in Upland you are able to
Define your home address out of all of
the properties that you own and in the
future you might be able to rent in a
different place if you don’t own that
property but you will be able to Define
your Upland home and that says a lot
about you what city you associate with
maybe that neighborhood is part of a
node so setting your home in a specific
neighborhood not only says something
about the community you’re in but it
also gives you important rights like
voting rights there are things that you
will be able to vote for within each
neighborhood within the city and within

which includes the city that your home
is in the neighborhood and a picture of
one of your block explorers you can use
this on other social media platforms
such as Twitter Facebook Instagram
Discord whatever that may be and this is
also part of your identity and you can
see here that the block explorer that
you’re looking at is my custom director
block Explorer of Dale the Llama now I’m
sure this is not the first video you’ve
watched of mine so you know who Dale
dilemma is but just to refresh your
memory this is him once you reach
director status which is a net worth of
1 million Optics you are able to apply
for your own custom block Explorer take

for yours so I submitted this picture
for them to create a block Explorer
round and this is what I got as you can
see it is a unique one-of-a-kind

in that profile picture so this is
another way that I’m able to express
myself I’m choosing something that is
important to me important to my identity
and it is being created specifically for
me this is one reason why I am very
against people selling their custom
block explores there are people who are
doing that and I think that’s just
simply silly why would you want to sell
your identity so I mentioned there are
lots of things that you own that say
something about you whether it be the
different properties that you own where
you’ve decided to build homes on them
your block explorers and custom block
explorers whether you collect football
legits or not all of this contributes to
your identity the question is how do you
now interact with other people after all
upland’s slogan is play earn connect as
of October 2022 there still is no
in-game communication but it’s on the
roadmap and it’s something that is going
to be coming soon one of the things that
they announced last week looking forward
to quarter four and 2023 is the fact
that people will be able to create their
own 3D avatars and this is really big
news for The Connect aspect of this game
a 2d block Explorer is not enough to
express yourself when we’re looking at
the metaverse and we’re looking at 3D AR
and VR immersive technologies that we
can expect to see in the future you are
going to have to have your own person or
Avatar Within These spaces when you look
at other metaverses like the sandbox or
descent Central end you can see that
every player has their own 3D avatar and
they’re interacting with each other they
can chat they can do hand gestures move
around do all sorts of things and I
think that Upland is looking at this
exact same vision for how they see the
connect aspect of Upland chatting in
Discord or interacting with people
through telegram or Twitter is not the
experience that people are looking for
when we think about the metaverse so
these block explorers are nice on some
level within Upland they will also be
your drivers when racing cars but when
we’re talking about connecting to other
people and expressing yourself you want
to create your own identity of a 3D
avatar it’s important to note that
Upland mentioned that your 3D avatar
will not be an nft similar to that of
the block Explorer but it will be a
customizable 3D avatar Upland is also
part of a group that is called the open
metaverse Alliance where they are trying
to create solutions to issues of
interoperability if I’m someone who is
part of not only Upland but also
decentraland and sandbox I might own my
block Explorer or I might own a
different asset how can I bring that
between the different metaverses similar
to today I have a Twitter account a
Facebook account Instagram these three
are not connected I cannot bring a
picture seamlessly from Instagram over
to something like Twitter however with
the blockchain and owning all of these
assets it is possible to be able to move
everything that you own seamlessly from
one place to another there’s a lot of
work that has to be done on the back end
to create this standardization and
connection but this is exactly something
that Upland is working on so this just
goes to show that your identity within
Upland does not just stay in Upland this
could be your beginning to entering the
metaverse and all of these metaverses
where in the future everything is going
to be connected and your digital
identity will be just as if not not even
more important than your real world
