Troves represent the output of services, goods, and cultural activity across neighborhoods in the Upland metaverse. They are in game items earned and are the key to engaging with Residents, completing quests, and unlocking new layers of interaction through Uppies.
Troves can be collected by sending yourself to different properties across the map that have certain types of structures on them – like cafes, fire stations, and markets. Each type of structure will generate its own trove. You can learn more about service structures here. Special types of fish troves can be discovered while fishing in open waters from your boat. Much like fishing allows players to discover troves while exploring waterways, trade routes will allow players to discover troves by transporting cargo between neighborhoods and cities.
Most Troves will be account-bound, meaning they’re earned and used by you alone. However, a few specific types of Troves will be tradable, introducing a new layer of economic strategy to the system.
With the introduction of life to the metaverse, you will also be able to earn troves by caring for your plants. There are common and rare troves that can be generated, but each plant will generate troves. Learn more about how caring for your plants will increase your rewards. The more attention you give your plants, the better the potential outcomes. Certain troves can only be generated by completing recipes – combinations of troves. These recipes are also required to mint Uppies.
As Upland continues to grow and new types of structures enter the metaverse, new types of troves will continue to be introduced making for limitless combinations and dynamic quest opportunities.
You will need to collect a variety of different troves in order to address the needs of residents that live in the metaverse. Fulfilling these requests will keep them happy, which in turn helps your neighborhood thrive and become more attractive to future Residents. The stronger your neighborhood, the more gameplay opportunities it unlocks, fueling growth across the broader Upland ecosystem.
For example, an Uppie might request 5 coffees, 2 milks, and 3 fire extinguishers. Once collected, these Troves can be spent to complete an Uppie quests. Fulfilling these requests helps you to befriend new Uppies.
Get familiar with your neighborhood and the metaverse to understand what the needs are of Uppies in your area and the structures that exist. Owning these trove generating structures, or knowing where they are will save you time and give you an edge to complete quests faster, more efficiently and with fewer sends.
While service structures and in-game actions are key sources of troves, additional systems like farming will also play a role in how these items are produced and collected.
