Seeds are assets required to start developing your Upland property with ornamental plants – whether they are flowers, shrubs, or trees. When planted, these plants need to be fed with STEM and cultivated to keep alive.
Seed Legits are created in specific Nursery metaventures where the owner has an active totem on the metaventure property. Players are able to spend (not stake) Sparklet in order to generate and receive a seed Legit. Seed Legits can be bought and sold in any nursery, but its important to note that generating seed Legits are specific to metaventures that have an active totem. Seed Rarity
When generating a seed, there is no guarantee to generate the one you want. The probability of generating a specific seed is based on its rarity (standard, limited, rare, and ultra rare) and climate zone (cold, mild, and hot). Based on the climate zone of the city where the nursery metaventure is located, each seed type is given a different rarity. For example, you will have a higher chance of generating a rose in a cold zoned city (Chicago) as opposed to a hot one (Miami).
Upland describes the climate zones as follows:
Cold Zone — Best for cool-climate evergreens and flowers like Roses and Tulips.
Cities include: New York, Chicago, Detroit, London, Park City, and more.
Mild Zone — A balanced zone with strong access to all plant types, especially shrubs.
Cities include: San Francisco, Tokyo, Lisbon, Paris, Sydney, and more.
Hot Zone — Ideal for heat-loving plants like Oil Palm, Orange Daisy, and Lavender.
Cities include: Miami, Las Vegas, Dallas, Hong Kong, Madrid, and more.
With the variability of climate zones, this adds a unique geographical layer to plant discovery and trade, enhancing the connection between Life and the Upland map.
In order to turn your seed Legit into a plant on your property, you will have to burn the Legit. By doing this, placing the plant on your property will forever tie it to that property. Plants are not NFTs and are non transferrable. This means if you sell your property, the owner will also receive all plants on it, just like he would receive any structure on it. The price of generating a seed legit is a function of the live demand for them. The price recalculates hourly where a large demand will increase the price of generation, while when there is less demand there will be a gradual price decrease. Prices are also capped to prevent extreme swings in prices. The owner of the nursery will receive 5% of the value of the sparklet spent in UPX as commission for facilitating the legit generation. Generating seed legits from your own metaventure will not pay you a commission.
