Looking to build a garden or add greenery to your Upland property? Nursery metaventures are the first step in this important stage of adding life to the Upland metaverse. Nurseries will facilitate the buying and selling of “Seed Legits”. You can trade your seed Legit for an ornamental plant by burning the Legit. Once planted, the living element will become not non-tradable. Care for the plant (likely in a similar mechanic to how Totems work) as it grows and evolves over time. Be careful, because without proper care, they may wither away.
At the launch of this feature, the care of these items will be tied to Protem (to become the Stem token in the future), with additional mechanics to be introduced over time to expand how life evolves in Upland.
Any player can open a Nursery, but players who place a totem on their Nursery will unlock additional utility for their metaventure. These upgraded Nurseries will enable players to spend Sparklet in exchange for a random seed Legit. The owner of the nursery will receive 5% of the value of the sparklet spent in UPX as commission for facilitating the legit generation. Generating seed legits from your own metaventure will not give you any UPX commission. The scarcity of these upgraded Nurseries will reward those who own and strategically activate totems on that property.
Seed types will vary in rarity and availability based on location. For example, Palm Trees may be exclusive to Nurseries in cities like Miami and Los Angeles, while Pine Trees could be found only in Lake Tahoe or Park City. This adds a unique geographical layer to plant discovery and trade, enhancing the connection between Life and the Upland map.
To get started, go to the Upland store and purchase the nursery structure for 50,000 UPX. Like a service structure, this model will be available in your account to build on any property it fits. You can build as many as you want. The nursery also has a 3.7 employment units meaning that in the future you will be able to employ your uppies at the nursery and increase your influence score.
