Sparklet is the token required to construct inanimate objects in the metaverse. Sparklet is the equivalent to a construction or factory worker. Sparklet hours refers to the number of hours it requires to build something in the metaverse. For example, to build a town house, you require 2,600,000 sparklet hours. If you own 2000 spark, it will take you 2,600,000/2000 = 1300 hours (over 54 days) to build your town house. Your sparklet does not get “used up”, and after you complete building, or at any time, you can remove your spark from the construction. Within Upland, Sparklet is non-transferable and cannot be sold, however players are able to transfer their sparklet to the Ethereum blockchain where they can freely trade Spaklet as an ERC-20 token.

Note that Sparklet used to be called Spark and had a conversion rate of 1 spark = 1000 sparklet.

The best time to obtain sparklet within Upland is during sparklet weekend held every weekend during each season. During that time, you can level up or purchase it. Learn more about sparklet weekend, and all the ways to earn sparklet.

Beyond trading Sparklet as an ERC-20 fungible token on the Ethereum blockchain, players can rent out their Sparklet on third party services as dev shops. In addition to buildings, sparklet is used to build any inanimate object and map assets (formerly outdoor decor items) in player owned factories. Legits will be manufactured by spending sparklet in mint shops. Beyond homes and map assets, Sparklet is required to build cars – and in the future, players will be able to manufacture their own cars! Sparklet is also used to charge your car. You can read more about cars here. If you think you know what sparklet is all about, take the Upland Guide sparklet quiz and test your knowledge.

*Note that in order to collect sparklet through treasure hunting and other methods, you are required to verify your identity with the KYC process (know your customer). Learn more about that here.
