FIFA World Cup Assets

Upland has announced a list of digital collectible NFTs that players can purchase and collect to increase their World Cup Fan Score. Owning different assets will enable you to show off your support for your team, and own unique collectibles. There will be many prizes up for grabs including the Lusail Stadium itself! Spotlights and passes are new types of Legits that will enter the metaverse for the first time with the World Cup. As more information around these assets are shared, this page will become updated, and we will teach you where they can be minted, and both how and why you will want to own them.

Legits - Essentials

Learn more about FIFA World Cup Legits here

Essentials are digital collectible NFTs that are not limited by the number of mints.  You will be able to buy these NFTs within Upland by visiting one of the FIFA_WorldCup owned stadiums or properties.  At these locations you will be able to mint bundles of essentials containing a number of different NFTs.

Since there is no supply limit to the number that can be obtained, you can expect these NFTs to have a relatively low resale value. Once the tournament is over and these NFTs are discontinued, it is possible that they might go up in value in the future if demand for them increase.

Having said that, there will be limited and rare essential variants where you have a small percentage chance of minting one when minting an essential. Not only will these have less supply, but a higher fan score.  As you mint Legits to increase your fan score, essentials will be an important part of collections.  In the meantime you can learn more about how NFLPA collections work, as these will likely function in a similar manner.  One of NFLPA collections is to own 3 variants of different players on the same team.  I speculate there could be a similar collection for these types of Legits, which will give you boosted fan points.

Why do you need Essentials?

  • Sell, trade or hold them as a collectible.
  • They increase your Fan Score improving the likelihood of getting minting a memento, spotlight or winning other prizes.
  • Create future team related collections for an additional Fan Point boost
  • Blend them to get a Replica (future feature)
Legits - Passes

Learn more about FIFA World Cup Legits here

Passes are FIFA branded NFTs. They contribute to your World Cup Fan Score and can be boosted when placed into FIFA Collections. Each Pass is based on a round of the FIFA World Cup. After that round is over, Passes become eligible to exchange for a Memento from that round. The higher your World Cup Fan Score and the higher the Fan Points of the Pass, the better your odds of getting a better Memento. Passes cannot be recovered after they are exchanged.

Legits - Mementos

Mementos are rare Legits that commemorate game performances of a specific team. If a team has a standout performance, the statistics included in the NFT will “catch fire” increasing its rarity.

Mementos contribute to your World Cup Fan Score and can be boosted when placed into FIFA Collections. Eligible Passes can be exchanged for a Memento or Spotlight.

Why do you need Mementos?

  • Sell, trade or hold them as a collectible.
  • Add them to team related collections for an additional Fan Score boost
  • They increase your Team Fan Score to improve your chances of winning prizes
Legits - Replicas

(Future feature)
Legit Replicas are copies of Mementos. To best describe this, think of the Mona Lisa. There is only one original, but many reprints or copies.

The following is how Replicas will work for NFLPA Legits.  There is no explicit information regarding how FIFA World Cup replicas will function, but we can expect it to be similar:

By merging 5 Essentials, players will have a chance to obtain replicas of Mementos. They aren’t as valuable or rare as the original Momento; They contribute half the number of Fan Points as compared to the original Memento.

Merging 5 Essentials gives you a small chance to get a replica game ball. If the Replica is not a game ball, one of the five Essentials used for the merge will be randomly chosen to influence the resulting Replica. For example, if the randomly drawn Essential is a Superstar jersey, the resulting Replica is more likely to be a Superstar player, more likely to be a jersey, and/or more likely to be from the same team as the Superstar player. Similarly if the randomly drawn Essential is an Impact Player cap, the resulting Replica is more likely to be an Impact Player, more likely to be a cap, and more likely to be from the same team as the Impact Player.

Why do you need Replicas?

  • Sell, trade or hold them as a collectible.
  • They will increase your Team Fans Score
  • Create team related collections for additional Fan Score boost

Legits - Spotlights

Learn more about FIFA World Cup Legits here

Spotlights are rare FIFA branded NFTs that commemorate real-world FIFA World Cups with video footage and unique data such as team stats for a match. If a team has a standout performance it's possible for stats to "catch  fire," increasing its visual uniqueness and rarity. Spotlights contribute to your World Cup Fan Score and can be boosted when placed into FIFA Collections. Eligible Passes can be exchanged for a Memento or Spotlight.  Spotlights can be highlights of a goal, save, tackle, etc., but goal spotlights will only have one mint, meaning there will be one person who own that goal.  See here an example of a spotlight.

Block Explorer

Upland is selling crest and mug block explorers for each team.  They are avatars that can be used, and in the future they will function as drivers in car racing.

They are limited in numbers, so if you aren't able to get one from Upland, they can also be bought and sold on the secondary market via metaventures.
